If you happened to be in Ocean City, Maryland for the 4th of July holiday last weekend you might have seen this banner fly down the beach a few times.
Banners pulled by small airplanes have long been an advertising staple “downy oshun hon”. You still see the classic letters spelling out a message on a grid work being pulled along, but these large banners with visible corporate logos have become very popular. This weekend this GEICO banner and one for Malibu rum circled Ocean City all weekend.
Boats and barges also cruise just off the beach all competing for your eyeballs with their messages on banners, electronic scrolling marquee signs, and now even a huge digital sign, the size of a regular highway billboard.
This banner advertising “The money you could be saving with GEICO” was designed on a Mac maintained by MacMedics at the GEICO marketing department, right here in Maryland. GEICO, a long time client is supported by MacMedics engineer Victor Gardella, who works in our Washington DC office.
