The iPad mini 5 is compatible with the 1st Gen. Pencil. The iPad Air – uses the previous 10.5” iPad Pro Keyboard and the 1st Gen Pencil. All previous 10.5 iPad covers are forward compatible with the new iPad Air. All new iPad Covers are compatible with the previous 10.5” iPad Pro.
