If you’re heading downy the ocean, hon, don’t forget to unplug your Mac!

As we enter the summer storm season, it’s important to remember to take precautions with your Mac. If you’re heading downy the ocean, hon, please keep this in mind.

1. If you have a desktop Mac, unplug it from the wall and Ethernet (if using) while you are away. If you have a MacBook Air or Macbook Pro and you’re not taking it with you, stash it away and out of sight.

2. It’s crucial to take your Time Machine backup and move it to another part of your home. This extra step ensures that if there is a localized fire, theft, or flood, your data backup is safe and not in the same area as your Mac!

3. I am recommending Backblaze to all of our customers as well! This service has unlimited storage, and if your Mac was lost, stolen, or destroyed (and that even may impact your Time Machine), you still have all of your data. Plus, it has a hidden feature that can help find your Mac if it’s up and running at a thief’s house! Use my affiliate code for a free trial!
